Acute conditions
– Active dental caries or tooth decay
– Gingivitis (gum inflammation) or acute periodontitis (gum disease)
– Fever, cold, flu, or respiratory conditions
– Nasopharyngitis or other sinus condition
– Antibiotic use within the last two weeks
– Gastric tubes/feeding tubes
Chronic conditions
– Severe trauma, head injury, or multiple severe concussions
– known chromosomal deletions or duplications, including syndromic genetic conditions
– More than one seizure in epilepsy or a history of seizures
